Specialized Moving Services
Heavy Item Movers in Lexington, KY
Big Moves. Thoughtful Handling.
Moving a heavy, oversized, or unusually shaped item requires more than just muscle. It requires a specific assessment of the item's weight, dimensions, and center of gravity, alongside a plan for the path it must travel.
Whether you have a single specialty item that needs to be moved between rooms or floors, or a heavy item that is part of a larger residential or commercial move, the Delos team provides the equipment and controlled handling necessary for a successful outcome.
Due to the complexity and risks involved, we evaluate each heavy item request individually to ensure we have the right crew and tools for the job. Not every item is suitable for our standard moving services, and we prioritize safety and property protection in every assessment.
Some Things Just Aren't Easy to Move.
Gun Safe Moving
Heavy item moving is defined by weight, but also by the unique risks associated with the item itself. Gun safes require specialized equipment and absolute control to prevent damage to floors and doorframes during transit.
Piano Moving
Pianos are delicate instruments and heavy furniture combined. We handle uprights and specialty pianos with thoughtful planning, ensuring high-value protection and careful maneuvering throughout the move.
Pool Table Moving
We provide labor for moving pool tables between locations or within a home. Please note that professional leveling, re-felting, and complex reassembly are specialized tasks not automatically included in a standard labor quote.
Oversized Furniture
Large sectionals, heavy armoires, and solid wood dining tables often exceed standard weight limits. We assess the dimensions and access points to ensure these pieces are moved without compromise to the piece or the property.
Appliance Moving
From washers to heavy refrigerators, we provide the muscle and equipment. Note: Our crew does not perform gas, water, or electrical disconnections or installations; these must be completed by the customer prior to arrival.
Commercial & Office Equipment
We move standard office equipment and heavy printers. Specialized machinery, regulated equipment, and unusually high-value items require individual evaluation and may fall outside our standard service capabilities.
Note: Availability depends on the item’s specific requirements. Requesting an estimate does not guarantee acceptance of a particular item or confirm a booking.
Strength Matters. Preparation Matters More.
Moving a heavy or oversized item isn’t just about the physical weight. It’s about the path it has to take. Tight doorways, narrow staircases, and sensitive flooring all present challenges that require more than just muscle—they require a plan.
Weight & Dimensions
Knowing the exact model or weight helps us determine the number of movers required and the tools necessary for stable movement.
Access Assessment
We review doorways, tight turns, and stairs to ensure the item can be safely navigated through the property without risk to the item or the structure.
Property Considerations
Protecting floors and banisters is as important as moving the item itself. Our process includes evaluating what protection is needed for your specific home.
Appropriate Equipment & Crew
We assign teams based on the physical demands of the item to ensure controlled handling and steady progress throughout the move.
